Additive Wax Carving - 2 Day

2 day in person class. May 24-25 (Last day for registration May 18th)

This class is suitable for Beginners, no prior jewellery making skills are required to succeed in this 2 day class.

Attendees will learn additive wax techniques to build up and create a unique jewellery design, ring or pendant.  Using heat and special techniques, we will shape jewellery wax to construct your design, as opposed to carving wax away from a larger block. 

You will learn the basics of lost wax castings, how to safely use hot and cold work wax carving tools and jewellery finishing, filing, sanding, polishing.

Day One: Wax forming using hot tools and molten wax. 

Day two: Casting demo, sanding, polishing, and finishing techniques. 

Attendees will be able to go home with 1 finished piece. 

Important: If you intend to make a ring for someone not in attendance, please get an accurate ring sizing prior to course start.

All Tools and materials provided. 20 grams of sterling silver will be provided per attendee, if your design exceeds this weight, additional costs will be incurred. Price TBD on the day at a per gram rate.

BBQ Lunch provided Saturday and Sunday (Please contact us 1 week in advance with dietary requirements)
