Signet Ring Making - 2 Day

2 day in person class June 14-15. (Last day for registration June 8th)

This class is suitable for Beginners, no prior jewellery making skills are required to succeed in this 2 day class.

Important: If this ring will be made for someone not in attendance, please get an accurate ring size prior to class start.

Attendees will create their own custom made ring in sterling silver featuring a traditional letter or shape motif using the lost wax casting method. You will be able to leave this class with a fully finished, polished ring. 

Day One, we will teach you to carve and size jewellery wax into your preferred shape, and/or carve in a letter as skills allow,  and prepare the wax model for casting in metal.

Day two, will consist of a casting demo, post processing, cleaning, filing, sanding and polishing to a finished product that attendees will take home with them. 

You will learn the basics of lost wax castings, how to safely use hot and cold wax carving tools, and jewellery finishing, filing, sanding, polishing.

All Tools and materials provided. A budget of 20 grams of sterling silver is a-lotted per student. Additional sterling silver can be purchased day of.

BBQ Lunch provided Saturday and Sunday (Please contact us 1 week in advance with dietary requirements)

Attendees will be able to go home with a finished piece.
